Job Position: Exciting Midwife Opportunity in London – Visa Sponsorship Offered!
Company: NHS
Salary: £27.18 per hour

We’re part of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust – a pretty massive organisation with over 17,000 staff looking after 2 million patients each year. We run Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm Hospital, the Royal Free Hospital, North Middlesex University Hospital, plus over 30 community services across North and Central London.
We’re all about delivering world-class care, and we actually mean it. We’ve got 3 consultant midwives, specialist teams for complex psychosocial care, two alongside Birth Centres, and a stand-alone unit at Edgware. We’re a diverse bunch and proud of it – everyone’s welcome here, and we’re constantly working to make sure all our staff feel supported and valued.
The Role
We’re looking for midwives (newly qualified or experienced) to join our bank team. This is flexible work – you pick up shifts as and when they suit you across our maternity services. You’ll be providing top-notch antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to women and their families.
You might find yourself working in community teams, at the Royal Free, Barnet, Chase Farm, or Edgware. The variety is brilliant for keeping your skills sharp and your days interesting.

- Making autonomous clinical decisions when needed (because sometimes you’ve got to think on your feet)
- Working across different areas to keep developing professionally
- Being part of a multi-professional team that genuinely supports each other
- Educating parents and mentoring students
What You Need
Must Have:
- NMC Part 10 registration (or equivalent)
- Experience in both ward and delivery suite settings
- Basic competencies: IV cannulation, suturing, theatre work, epidural top-ups, newborn resuscitation

- Flexibility with shift patterns across different sites
Nice to Have:
- Previous midwifery or Band 5 nursing experience
- Community midwifery background
- Up-to-date professional development
- Knowledge of the public health agenda
What We’re Really Looking For
Someone who can work independently but loves being part of a team. You need to be adaptable, calm with difficult situations, and genuinely passionate about supporting women and families. If you’re the type who can prioritize on the fly and doesn’t mind cross-site working, you’ll fit right in.
The Perks
- Flexible hours that work around your life
- Hourly rate of £27.18
- Work across multiple sites and specialties
- Be part of an organization that’s actually progressive about equality and inclusion
- Visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates
